Ato Ribeiro (b. 1989) is an artist working in a variety of media including sculpture, instillation, drawing and printmaking. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but spent the formative years of his life in Accra, Ghana. He received his B.A. from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and earned his M.F.A. in Print Media from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. His work has been exhibited at venues such as the Nubuke Foundation (Accra, Ghana), ABSA Gallery (Johannesburg, South Africa), Agnes Scott College Dalton Gallery (Atlanta, Georgia), Cranbrook Art Museum (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan), the N’Namdi Center for Contemporary Art (Detroit, Michigan), Anastasia Tinari Projects (Chicago, Illinois), and several others. He was recently part of a two person show alongside Máximo González at the Lisa Sette Gallery in Phoenix, Arizona.
